Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the ingredientsCook the bacon until crisp, then drain on paper towels and crumble. Hard-boil the eggs, cool, peel, and chop. Dice the cooked chicken breast, avocados, and red onion. Halve the cherry tomatoes and crumble the blue cheese.
-
Make the dressingIn a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, honey, salt, and pepper until well combined and emulsified. Set aside.
-
Arrange the saladOn a large serving platter or individual plates, spread the chopped romaine lettuce as the base. Arrange the toppings in neat rows across the lettuce: diced chicken, crumbled bacon, chopped eggs, diced avocado, halved cherry tomatoes, diced red onion, and crumbled blue cheese.
-
Dress and serveDrizzle the prepared dressing over the salad just before serving, or serve the dressing on the side to allow guests to dress their own portions. For the classic presentation, serve the salad chilled.
-
Toss if desiredWhile traditionally served with ingredients arranged in rows, you can toss all ingredients together with the dressing for a more casual presentation. This distributes the flavors evenly throughout the salad.
