Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon
Place the bacon strips in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until the bacon is crispy but not burnt. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
  2. Prepare the bread
If desired, lightly butter the bread slices on one side and toast them in a clean skillet or toaster until golden brown. Set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Season the tomatoes
Place the tomato slices on a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Sprinkle them lightly with salt and pepper to enhance their flavor.
  4. Assemble the sandwich
Spread about 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on one side of each bread slice. On two of the bread slices, layer the lettuce, followed by the seasoned tomato slices and finally the crispy bacon, dividing ingredients evenly between the two sandwiches.
  5. Complete the sandwich
Top each sandwich with the remaining bread slices, mayonnaise side down. Press gently to secure the sandwich. For a cleaner presentation, cut diagonally with a sharp knife.
