
California Cobb Salad
A classic American salad with perfectly arranged colorful toppings

Prepare the dressingIn a small bowl, whisk together the red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously until well combined and emulsified. Set aside or refrigerate until ready to use.

Cook the protein componentsIf not already prepared, season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Grill or pan-sear until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C), about 6-7 minutes per side. Allow to cool, then dice into 1/2-inch cubes. Cook bacon in a skillet until crisp, drain on paper towels, then crumble. Place eggs in a saucepan, cover with cold water, bring to a boil, then simmer for 9 minutes. Transfer to an ice bath, peel when cool, and quarter.

Prepare the vegetablesWash and dry the romaine lettuce, then chop into bite-sized pieces. Dice the avocados, halve the cherry tomatoes, and thinly slice the green onions. Crumble the blue cheese if not already crumbled.

Assemble the saladOn a large platter or in individual bowls, spread the chopped romaine lettuce as the base. Arrange the diced chicken, crumbled bacon, quartered eggs, diced avocado, halved cherry tomatoes, and crumbled blue cheese in neat rows across the lettuce. Sprinkle the sliced green onions over the top.

Serve the saladDrizzle some of the dressing over the salad just before serving, or serve the dressing on the side allowing each person to add their desired amount. Serve immediately while the ingredients are fresh and the bacon is still crispy.
