Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the glazeIn a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, and grated ginger until well combined. If using, add red pepper flakes for a hint of heat.
-
Season the salmonPat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper. Let the salmon sit at room temperature for 10 minutes while you heat the pan.
-
Sear the salmonHeat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Place salmon fillets skin-side down in the hot pan and cook for 4 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden.
-
Flip and glazeCarefully flip the salmon fillets. Reduce heat to medium-low and pour the honey garlic mixture over the salmon. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, occasionally spooning the sauce over the fillets as they cook.
-
Reduce the sauceWhen the salmon is nearly cooked through (internal temperature of 125°F for medium or 145°F for well done), increase the heat to medium-high for 1 minute to reduce and thicken the sauce until it forms a glossy glaze.
-
Rest and serveRemove the pan from heat. Let the salmon rest for 2 minutes in the pan. Transfer to serving plates, spoon extra glaze over the top, and garnish with chopped parsley or cilantro and sliced green onions. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
