Instructions

  1. Prepare the salmon
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes while preparing other ingredients.
  2. Make the garlic butter sauce
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, dill, parsley, oregano, and red pepper flakes if using. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Cook the salmon
Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy. Carefully flip the fillets and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through but still slightly pink in the center.
  4. Combine and finish
Reduce heat to low. Pour the garlic butter sauce over the salmon fillets in the pan. Spoon the sauce over the fillets continuously for about 1 minute, allowing the salmon to absorb the flavors.
  5. Serve
Transfer the salmon fillets to serving plates, spooning extra garlic butter sauce over the top. Garnish with additional fresh herbs and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing.
