Instructions

  1. Prepare the glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using) until well combined.
  2. Season the salmon
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Place the salmon skin-side down on a plate.
  3. Marinate briefly
Pour half of the honey glaze over the salmon fillets, reserving the other half for basting. Let the salmon marinate at room temperature for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Cook the salmon
Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the hot pan and cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  5. Flip and glaze
Carefully flip the salmon and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Pour the remaining glaze over the salmon and cook for 1-2 minutes more, until the glaze has thickened and the salmon is cooked through but still moist inside.
  6. Rest and serve
Transfer the salmon to serving plates and let rest for 2 minutes. Drizzle any remaining glaze from the pan over the fillets. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
