Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients
In a small bowl, whisk together the sugar, paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and dried mustard powder until well combined.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the vegetable oil, ketchup, white vinegar, minced onion, Worcestershire sauce, and lemon juice. Whisk until the mixture begins to emulsify.
  3. Incorporate Dry into Wet
Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, whisking continuously to ensure everything is thoroughly incorporated and no lumps remain.
  4. Emulsify the Dressing
Whisk vigorously for about 2 minutes until the dressing is smooth and slightly thickened. For a smoother texture, you can also use a blender or food processor.
  5. Taste and Adjust
Taste the dressing and adjust seasonings if needed. Add more sugar for sweetness, vinegar for tanginess, or salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Store Properly
Transfer the dressing to an airtight container or glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to allow flavors to meld together.
