A delicious sandwich featuring leftover turkey and tangy cranberry
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the breadLightly butter one side of each bread slice. These buttered sides will face outward when cooking to create a golden crust.
-
Create the spreadIn a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard together. Spread this mixture on the non-buttered side of two bread slices. Spread cranberry sauce on the non-buttered side of the other two slices. If using cream cheese, spread it on top of the cranberry sauce.
-
Assemble the sandwichOn the bread slices with mayonnaise-mustard spread, layer the turkey slices, Swiss cheese, red onion slices, and arugula or spinach. Place the bread slices with cranberry sauce on top, with the cranberry side facing the fillings to create two complete sandwiches.
-
Cook the sandwichHeat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the assembled sandwiches on the skillet, buttered side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted.
-
Serve and enjoyRemove the sandwiches from the heat, cut diagonally, and serve immediately while warm and crispy. Pair with a side of potato chips, sweet potato fries, or a light salad for a complete meal.
