Tender beef strips with colorful bell peppers in savory sauce

Marinate the beefIn a medium bowl, combine sliced beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1/2 tablespoon ground black pepper. Toss to coat evenly and let marinate for 10 minutes at room temperature.

Prepare the sauceIn a small bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, beef broth, and cornstarch slurry. Set aside.

Sear the beefHeat 1 tablespoon oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat until smoking. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and sear for 1-2 minutes per side until browned but not fully cooked. Remove beef and set aside.

Cook the vegetablesIn the same pan, add the remaining oil. Add onions and stir-fry for 2 minutes until translucent. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add all bell peppers and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until peppers are slightly softened but still crisp.

Combine and finishReturn the beef to the pan with the vegetables. Pour in the prepared sauce and remaining black pepper. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats everything evenly. The beef should be cooked through but still tender.

Rest and serveRemove from heat and let rest for 1 minute to allow flavors to meld. Serve hot over steamed rice or with your favorite side dishes.
