Instructions

  1. Prepare the tea
Place the Earl Grey tea bag or loose-leaf tea in a tea infuser into a large mug. If using lavender, add it to the tea. Pour hot water over the tea and allow to steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on desired strength.
  2. Heat and froth the milk
While the tea is steeping, heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until steaming but not boiling (about 180°F/82°C). Remove from heat and use a milk frother, small whisk, or immersion blender to froth the milk until foamy.
  3. Sweeten the tea
Remove the tea bag or strain the loose-leaf tea. Add honey or sugar to the hot tea and stir until completely dissolved. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine and serve
Slowly pour the frothed milk into the tea, holding back the foam with a spoon. Once the milk is added, spoon the foam on top. If desired, sprinkle with a small amount of ground cinnamon. Serve immediately while hot.
