Sweet and sticky wings with a perfect garlic kick
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the chicken wingsPat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the wings with salt, pepper, and cornstarch until evenly coated. The cornstarch will help create a crispy exterior when baked.
-
Preheat and arrangePreheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil, and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the wings on the rack, making sure they're not touching each other.
-
Bake the wingsBake the wings for 35-40 minutes, turning halfway through, until the skin is crispy and golden brown. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
-
Prepare the honey garlic sauceWhile the wings are baking, prepare the sauce. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
-
Toss wings in sauceWhen the wings are done, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the wings and toss until they're completely coated. For extra stickiness, you can return the glazed wings to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
-
Garnish and serveTransfer the glazed wings to a serving platter. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately while hot and sticky for the best flavor and texture.
