
Shrimp Tacos
Zesty lime-marinated shrimp with fresh slaw in warm tortillas

Marinate the shrimpIn a medium bowl, combine shrimp, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 2 tablespoons lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper. Toss to coat evenly and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Prepare the slawIn a separate bowl, toss the shredded cabbage with remaining lime juice, 1 tablespoon olive oil, half of the cilantro, and salt to taste. Set aside to allow flavors to meld.

Cook the shrimpHeat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat and set aside.

Warm the tortillasHeat the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds per side, or wrap them in damp paper towels and microwave for 30 seconds. Keep warm by wrapping in a clean kitchen towel.

Prepare the cremaIf using sour cream, thin it slightly with a teaspoon of water or lime juice and stir until smooth. Season with a pinch of salt.

Assemble the tacosPlace a small amount of the cabbage slaw on each tortilla. Top with 3-4 cooked shrimp, sliced avocado, a drizzle of crema, and sprinkle with remaining cilantro and jalapeño slices if desired.
