Instructions

  1. Prepare the fish
In a medium bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add the fish pieces and toss gently to coat. Let marinate for 10 minutes while preparing other components.
  2. Make the slaw
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, sour cream, mayonnaise, and lime juice. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. Cook the fish
Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated fish and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until opaque and flakes easily with a fork. Transfer to a plate and break into smaller pieces if needed.
  4. Warm the tortillas
Heat the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds per side, or wrap them in a damp paper towel and microwave for 30 seconds, until warm and pliable.
  5. Assemble the tacos
Lay out the warm tortillas and divide the fish evenly among them. Top each with a generous portion of the cabbage slaw, sliced avocado, and fresh cilantro.
  6. Serve and garnish
Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the tacos. Add your favorite hot sauce or salsa if desired.
