Jalapeno Popper Dip
Creamy, cheesy dip with a spicy kick for your next party
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the ingredientsPreheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Soften the cream cheese by leaving it at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, dice and seed the jalapeños (wear gloves to protect your hands), mince the garlic, and shred the cheeses if not already done.
-
Mix the baseIn a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes. Make sure there are no lumps of cream cheese remaining.
-
Add the flavorsFold in the shredded cheddar cheese, monterey jack cheese, diced jalapeños, minced garlic, onion powder, and ground cumin. Stir until all ingredients are well combined and evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
-
Prepare the toppingIn a small bowl, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, and melted butter. This will create a crispy, golden topping for your dip.
-
Assemble and bakeTransfer the cheese mixture to a 9-inch pie plate or a 2-quart baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the top. If desired, arrange jalapeño slices on top for garnish and extra spice.
-
Bake to perfectionBake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly around the edges and the topping is golden brown. For extra browning, broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
-
Serve hotRemove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve hot with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetable sticks. The dip will be very hot right out of the oven, so be careful when taking the first bite.
