Instructions

  1. Prepare the boba pearls
If using boba pearls, cook them according to package instructions, usually by boiling for 5-7 minutes until soft and chewy. Drain and rinse with cold water, then toss with honey or simple syrup to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  2. Blend the smoothie base
In a blender, combine the fresh strawberries, sweetened condensed milk, whole milk or coconut milk, ice cubes, vanilla extract, and sugar if using. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy, about 30-45 seconds.
  3. Check consistency
If the smoothie is too thick, add a little more milk. If it's too thin, add more ice or frozen strawberries. Blend again briefly to incorporate. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  4. Assemble the smoothie
If using boba pearls, divide them between two tall glasses. Pour the strawberry smoothie mixture over the boba pearls. For an aesthetic layered look, you can add the boba pearls after pouring half the smoothie, then top with the remaining smoothie.
  5. Garnish and serve
Garnish each glass with a fresh strawberry and mint leaves. Serve immediately with wide boba straws if using boba pearls, or regular straws if not. Enjoy while cold!
