Prepare the breadPreheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the softened butter evenly over each slice of sourdough bread. Place the bread slices on a baking sheet.
-
Toast the breadPlace the baking sheet in the preheated oven and toast the bread for about 5 minutes, until it's lightly golden but still soft in the middle. Remove from the oven but keep the oven on.
-
Assemble the tartinesArrange the Camembert slices evenly over each piece of toasted bread. Layer the pear slices on top of the cheese, slightly overlapping them. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of honey over the pears and cheese. Sprinkle with half of the thyme leaves.
-
Bake the tartinesReturn the tartines to the oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the pears have softened slightly.
-
Add the finishing touchesRemove the tartines from the oven. Immediately sprinkle with the toasted walnuts, remaining thyme leaves, a drizzle of olive oil, and the balsamic glaze. Season with flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
-
Garnish and serveTop each tartine with a small handful of arugula or microgreens. Drizzle with a little extra honey if desired. Serve immediately while still warm.
