Crunchy open-faced sandwich with creamy avocado and crisp radishes

Toast the breadLightly toast the sourdough slices until golden brown. While still warm, rub each slice with the cut side of garlic to infuse with flavor.

Prepare the avocadoScoop the avocado flesh into a small bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, juice of half a lemon, salt, and pepper. Mash with a fork until somewhat smooth but still maintaining some texture.

Prepare the radishesThinly slice the radishes using a sharp knife or mandoline. Place in a small bowl and toss with a squeeze of lemon juice and a pinch of salt to slightly pickle them.

Assemble the tartinesSpread the mashed avocado evenly over each slice of toast. Arrange the sliced radishes on top, slightly overlapping them for a beautiful presentation.

Finish and garnishDrizzle each tartine with the remaining olive oil. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if using, additional flaky sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Top with microgreens or sprouts if desired.
