Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the sauceIn a small bowl, mix together the oyster sauce, fish sauce, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and sugar until well combined. Set aside.
-
Sauté the aromaticsHeat vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat. Add minced garlic and chopped chilies, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
-
Cook the porkAdd the ground pork to the wok, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the pork is no longer pink and starts to brown slightly.
-
Add vegetablesToss in the sliced green beans and red bell pepper. Stir-fry for another 2 minutes until the vegetables begin to soften but still maintain some crunch.
-
Season the dishPour the prepared sauce mixture over the pork and vegetables. Stir continuously to coat everything evenly and allow the flavors to meld together for about 1 minute.
-
Add the basilTurn off the heat and add the Thai basil leaves, stirring quickly to incorporate them into the hot mixture. The residual heat will wilt the basil and release its aromatic flavor without overcooking it.
-
Assemble the rice bowlPlace a cup of jasmine rice in each serving bowl. Top with the hot basil pork mixture, dividing it equally among the bowls.
-
Finish with fried eggIf desired, top each bowl with a fried egg. The runny yolk adds richness and complements the spicy pork perfectly. Serve immediately while hot.
