Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef
In a medium bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with 2 tablespoons of teriyaki sauce. Toss to coat and let marinate for at least 10 minutes while preparing other ingredients.
  2. Prepare the sauce
In a small bowl, mix the remaining teriyaki sauce with brown sugar and the cornstarch slurry. Set aside.
  3. Cook the beef
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding. Remove beef and set aside.
  4. Stir-fry the vegetables
Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the same pan. Add garlic and ginger, stir-frying for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add onions and cook for 1 minute, then add broccoli and carrots, cooking for 2 minutes. Finally, add bell peppers and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until vegetables are crisp-tender.
  5. Combine and finish
Return the beef to the pan with the vegetables. Pour the prepared sauce over everything and stir continuously for 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats all ingredients evenly.
  6. Serve
Transfer to a serving platter or individual plates. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately with steamed rice.
