    Fold in the finely chopped dill pickles and drained capers. These ingredients provide the distinctive tangy flavor and texture that defines tartar sauce.
  3. Incorporate fresh ingredients
    Add the finely chopped onion or shallot, fresh parsley, fresh dill, and lemon juice. Stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout the sauce.
  4. Season the sauce
    Add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix thoroughly to incorporate all seasonings.
