Warm the milkIn a medium saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it begins to simmer around the edges. Be careful not to let it boil.

Add the NutellaReduce heat to low and add the Nutella. Whisk continuously until the Nutella is completely melted and incorporated into the milk, about 2-3 minutes.

Incorporate remaining ingredientsAdd the cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and cinnamon (if using). Whisk vigorously until the mixture is smooth and all ingredients are fully incorporated.

Simmer to thickenAllow the hot chocolate to simmer gently for 5 minutes, whisking occasionally to prevent scorching. The mixture will thicken slightly.

Serve and garnishRemove from heat. Pour the hot chocolate into four mugs. Top each with whipped cream, mini marshmallows, and a sprinkle of chocolate shavings. Serve immediately while hot.
