Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the salmonPat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Allow to rest at room temperature for 10 minutes while preparing the glaze.
-
Make the honey garlic glazeIn a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using) until well combined.
-
Sear the salmonHeat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Place the salmon in the pan skin-side down and cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy. Carefully flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
-
Add the glazeReduce heat to medium-low. Pour the honey garlic mixture into the skillet. Add the butter and allow it to melt into the sauce. Spoon the glaze over the salmon continuously for 2-3 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
-
Check for donenessThe salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork but is still slightly translucent in the center. The internal temperature should reach 125°F (52°C) for medium-rare or 130°F (54°C) for medium.
-
ServeTransfer the salmon to serving plates. Drizzle with the remaining glaze from the pan. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
