Instructions

  1. Prepare the bread
Cut the Cuban bread rolls in half lengthwise. Spread mustard evenly on both the top and bottom halves of each roll.
  2. Layer the ingredients
On the bottom half of each roll, layer 2 oz of roasted pork, 2 oz of ham, 2 slices of Swiss cheese, and 4 pickle slices. Sprinkle with a pinch of oregano, salt, and pepper if desired.
  3. Assemble the sandwiches
Place the top halves of the rolls on the sandwiches and gently press down. Spread the outside of each sandwich (top and bottom) with softened butter.
  4. Grill the sandwiches
Heat a panini press or large skillet over medium heat. If using a skillet, place another heavy pan on top of the sandwiches to press them down. Grill for 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted.
  5. Slice and serve
Remove the sandwiches from the heat and let rest for 1 minute. Cut each sandwich diagonally and serve immediately while hot and crispy.
