
Medianoche Sandwich
A sweet and savory Cuban midnight sandwich with roasted pork

Prepare the breadSlice the sweet egg rolls horizontally and spread 1 tablespoon of yellow mustard on the inside of each top and bottom half.

Layer the ingredientsFor each sandwich, place a slice of Swiss cheese on the bottom half, followed by 2 ounces of roasted pork, 2 ounces of ham, 4 pickle slices, and another slice of Swiss cheese. Top with the other half of the roll.

Prepare for pressingIf using a panini press, lightly butter the outside of each sandwich. If using a skillet method, mix the softened butter with garlic powder (if using) and spread lightly on the outside of each sandwich.

Cook the sandwichHeat a sandwich press or a heavy skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the press or skillet. If using a skillet, place another heavy skillet or pot on top of the sandwiches to press them down. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is golden and crispy and the cheese is melted.

Slice and serveRemove the sandwiches from the heat, let rest for 1 minute, then slice diagonally and serve immediately while hot and crispy.
