Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the riceCook the short-grain rice according to package instructions. While still hot, divide the rice among 4 large bowls (preferably stone bowls if available) and arrange a space in the center for the egg.
-
Season and cook the meatIn a small bowl, mix the beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, and 1 teaspoon minced garlic. Let marinate for 10 minutes. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the beef until browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes. Set aside.
-
Prepare the vegetablesIn the same skillet, sauté each vegetable separately with a small amount of sesame oil and a pinch of salt. For spinach: cook until wilted, then squeeze out excess water. For carrots, zucchini, and mushrooms: sauté until tender-crisp. For bean sprouts: blanch in boiling water for 1 minute, then drain and season with a drop of sesame oil and salt.
-
Make the gochujang sauceIn a small bowl, mix the gochujang with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, and the sugar. Stir until smooth and set aside.
-
Fry the eggsHeat a non-stick skillet over medium heat with a little oil. Crack eggs one at a time and fry sunny-side up until the whites are set but yolks are still runny.
-
Assemble the bibimbapArrange the cooked vegetables and beef in separate sections around the edge of each rice bowl, creating a colorful presentation. Place a fried egg in the center of each bowl. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and strips of roasted seaweed.
-
ServeServe the bibimbap with the gochujang sauce on the side. Before eating, add desired amount of sauce and mix everything together thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
