Instructions

  1. Prepare the wings
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the wings with vegetable oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
  2. Preheat and arrange
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack, making sure they're not touching.
  3. Bake the wings
Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, turning them over halfway through cooking time, until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  4. Prepare the buffalo sauce
While the wings are baking, prepare the buffalo sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the hot sauce, butter, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper (if using). Bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally, until the butter is completely melted and the sauce is well combined. Remove from heat.
  5. Coat the wings
When the wings are done, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over the wings and toss until they are completely coated. For extra crispy wings, you can return them to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Serve
Serve the buffalo wings immediately with blue cheese dressing, celery sticks, and carrot sticks on the side. Provide plenty of napkins as these wings can get messy!
