Brew the coffeeAdd coffee grounds to 1 cup of hot water (just below boiling point) and brew for 4-5 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve or coffee filter to remove grounds.

Prepare the teaAdd tea leaves to 1 cup of hot water and steep for 3-4 minutes. Strain to remove tea leaves, creating a strong tea infusion.

Mix the baseIn a medium pot, combine the brewed coffee and tea in a 1:1 ratio. The traditional Yuanyang ratio is 3 parts coffee to 7 parts tea, but adjust according to your preference.

Add sweetenersStir in the sweetened condensed milk and sugar until completely dissolved. The drink should be quite sweet, as is traditional in Hong Kong cafes.

Finish the mixtureAdd the evaporated milk and stir well to combine all ingredients into a smooth, creamy mixture. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.

Serve hot or coldFor hot Yuanyang, pour into mugs and serve immediately. For cold Yuanyang, let the mixture cool to room temperature, then pour over ice cubes in tall glasses. Sprinkle with cinnamon powder if desired.
