Instructions

  1. Brew the coffee
Add the Vietnamese coffee grounds to a traditional phin filter or French press. Pour hot water over the grounds and let steep for 4-5 minutes until the coffee drips through completely. If using a French press, press down after steeping.
  2. Prepare the base
In two tall glasses, add 1 tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk to each. Pour the hot brewed coffee equally into each glass, stirring well to dissolve the condensed milk. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  3. Create the lime-mint infusion
In a small bowl, muddle the mint leaves with lime juice, lime zest, and simple syrup until the mint releases its oils and aroma. Strain this mixture to remove the mint leaves, keeping the infused liquid.
  4. Assemble the drinks
Divide the lime-mint infusion between the two glasses of coffee, stirring gently to incorporate. Add ice cubes to fill each glass, and top with a splash of cold water if you prefer a less intense flavor.
  5. Garnish and serve
Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves and a lime wedge on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw, encouraging guests to stir before drinking to blend all the flavors.
