Succulent shrimp sautéed in a rich, aromatic garlic sauce
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the shrimpPat the peeled and deveined shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and pepper. This helps the shrimp get a nice sear when cooking.
-
Infuse the oilIn a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-low heat. Add the sliced garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking gently for 2-3 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant and just starts to turn golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
-
Sauté the shrimpIncrease the heat to medium-high and add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2 minutes per side until they turn pink and start to curl. Avoid overcrowding the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
-
Create the sauceAdd the white wine and lemon juice to the skillet, allowing it to simmer and reduce for about 2 minutes. If using butter, add it now and swirl to incorporate into the sauce as it melts.
-
Season and finishSprinkle the smoked paprika over the shrimp and sauce, stirring gently to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
-
Garnish and serveRemove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Serve immediately in the skillet for a rustic presentation or transfer to a warm serving dish. Accompany with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
