Instructions

  1. Blend the yogurt
In a blender, add the yogurt and cold water. Blend on medium speed for 30 seconds until smooth and frothy.
  2. Add the spices
Add roasted cumin powder, black salt, regular salt, chaat masala, and black pepper to the yogurt mixture. Blend again for 15 seconds to incorporate all the spices.
  3. Mix in the fresh ingredients
Add the chopped mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chili (if using), and grated ginger to the blender. Pulse a few times just to mix them in without completely blending them.
  4. Chill and serve
Pour the chaas into a pitcher and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Stir well before serving. Pour into glasses, sprinkle a pinch of dried mint on top if desired, and serve immediately.
  5. Garnish and enjoy
Optionally garnish with a sprig of fresh mint and a light dusting of cumin powder on top. Serve chilled for the best taste experience.
