Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the tofuDrain the tofu and pat dry with paper towels. Cut into 1/2-inch thick rectangles about 2 inches long. Place the tofu slices on more paper towels and press gently to remove excess moisture.
-
Fry the tofuHeat vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tofu slices and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels.
-
Make the sauceIn a small bowl, combine soy sauce, gochugaru, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and the white parts of the green onions. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved.
-
Braise the tofuReturn the fried tofu to the skillet and pour the sauce mixture over it. Add the water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, occasionally spooning the sauce over the tofu, until the sauce has reduced and thickened, about 10-12 minutes.
-
Garnish and serveTransfer the braised tofu to a serving plate. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and the green parts of the green onions. Serve hot with steamed rice.
