Crispy tortilla chips smothered in melted cheese and spicy peppers
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Preheat the ovenPreheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easier cleanup.
-
Prepare the chipsSpread the tortilla chips in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet. Make sure they overlap slightly but aren't piled too high, as this ensures even melting of the cheese.
-
Season the chipsSprinkle the ground cumin and garlic powder evenly over the chips to add flavor directly to the base layer.
-
Add cheese and jalapeñosEvenly distribute the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses over the chips. Scatter the pickled jalapeño slices across the top, adding more or less depending on your heat preference.
-
Bake the nachosPlace the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 7-10 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and starting to bubble around the edges. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
-
Add fresh toppingsRemove the nachos from the oven and immediately top with fresh jalapeño slices, black olives, and chopped cilantro while the cheese is still hot.
-
Serve with dipsTransfer the nachos to a serving platter if desired. Serve immediately with sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo in separate bowls on the side, allowing guests to add their own toppings.
