Instructions

  1. Prepare the acai puree
Break up the frozen acai puree into chunks and place in a high-powered blender. If the puree comes in packets, run them briefly under warm water to slightly thaw before opening.
  2. Blend the base
Add the frozen banana slices, frozen mixed berries, and almond milk or coconut water to the blender with the acai. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes. The consistency should be thick like a sorbet, not runny like a smoothie.
  3. Adjust consistency and sweetness
If the mixture is too thick to blend properly, add a little more liquid, 1 tablespoon at a time. If you prefer a sweeter bowl, add honey or agave nectar and blend again briefly to incorporate.
  4. Pour and prepare bowls
Immediately transfer the acai mixture into two chilled serving bowls. The cold bowls will help keep the acai mixture from melting too quickly.
  5. Add toppings
Arrange the toppings artfully over the acai base: sliced banana, fresh strawberries, blueberries, granola, shredded coconut, chia seeds, and sliced almonds. Try to create visually appealing sections of each topping.
  6. Serve immediately
Acai bowls melt quickly, so serve right away with a spoon. For the best texture and temperature, enjoy immediately after preparation.
