Instructions

  1. Prepare the frozen ingredients
If using fresh dragon fruit instead of frozen puree, peel and cube 2 cups of dragon fruit and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight. Ensure your banana is also frozen for best results.
  2. Blend the base mixture
In a high-powered blender, combine the frozen pitaya puree, frozen banana slices, frozen strawberries, almond milk, and sweetener if using. Blend until smooth but still thick. The consistency should be thicker than a smoothie but not so thick that it won't blend. Add more almond milk, one tablespoon at a time, if needed to achieve proper consistency.
  3. Transfer to serving bowls
Immediately pour or scoop the blended mixture into two serving bowls. Use a spatula to smooth the surface and create an even layer. The mixture should be thick enough to hold toppings without them sinking.
  4. Add the toppings
Artfully arrange the fresh dragon fruit slices, blueberries, and strawberry slices on top of the smoothie base. Sprinkle with granola, chia seeds, shredded coconut, and sliced almonds, creating sections for visual appeal.
  5. Serve immediately
For the best texture and temperature, serve the dragon fruit bowl right away. The bowl should be cold and slightly firm, similar to soft-serve ice cream. Enjoy with a spoon, mixing the toppings with the base as you eat.
