Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the yogurt baseIn a large bowl, whisk the yogurt until it becomes smooth and creamy. Make sure there are no lumps remaining.
-
Add water and blendGradually add the cold water to the yogurt while whisking continuously. For a thinner consistency, add more water; for thicker, use less. The traditional ratio is 1:1 yogurt to water.
-
Season the mixtureAdd salt to taste and whisk until fully dissolved. If using mint, garlic, or cucumber, fold them into the mixture now. These additions make regional variations of the classic drink.
-
Aerate the drinkFor authentic texture, pour the mixture back and forth between two pitchers or glasses several times to create a frothy top. Alternatively, use a blender on low speed for 30 seconds or a handheld frother.
-
Chill and serveRefrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. Pour into glasses, add ice cubes if desired, and garnish with a sprinkle of dried mint or a fresh mint sprig.
