Sweet, creamy beverage with fresh strawberry puree
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the strawberriesWash the strawberries thoroughly, remove the stems, and cut them into quarters. Set aside a few thin slices for garnish.
-
Make the strawberry compoteIn a small saucepan, combine the quartered strawberries and sugar. Cook over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries release their juices and begin to break down. Use a wooden spoon to mash some of the strawberries against the side of the pan.
-
Cool the mixtureRemove from heat and stir in the honey. Allow the strawberry mixture to cool completely to room temperature, then refrigerate for about 10 minutes to chill.
-
Prepare the glassesSpoon the strawberry mixture along the sides of two tall glasses, creating the signature Korean strawberry milk pattern. Reserve some of the mixture for topping.
-
Assemble the drinkPour the cold milk into each glass, being careful not to disturb the strawberry pattern too much. If using, stir in the vanilla extract and condensed milk. Add ice cubes if desired.
-
Finish and serveTop each glass with the remaining strawberry mixture and garnish with fresh strawberry slices. Serve immediately with a straw and a long spoon to mix the drink before enjoying.
