Instructions

  1. Prepare serving glasses
Chill 4 small serving glasses or cups in the freezer for about 10 minutes. This helps prevent the ice cream from melting too quickly when the hot espresso is added.
  2. Add chocolate sauce
Remove the chilled glasses and drizzle 1 tablespoon of chocolate sauce around the inside of each glass, creating a decorative pattern. If desired, reserve a small amount for topping.
  3. Scoop the ice cream
Place one generous scoop of chocolate ice cream into each prepared glass. If you're using vanilla extract, you can add a few drops to each scoop for extra flavor.
  4. Brew the espresso
Prepare fresh espresso using an espresso machine or strong coffee using a Moka pot. If using the optional chocolate liqueur, stir it into the hot espresso.
  5. Pour and serve
Immediately pour one shot of hot espresso over each ice cream scoop. The hot espresso will begin to melt the ice cream, creating a creamy, rich mixture.
  6. Add toppings
Top each serving with a dollop of whipped cream, a sprinkle of chocolate chips or shavings, and dust with cocoa powder. Add a chocolate-covered espresso bean and optional cinnamon stick for garnish.
