Sweet, spicy, and sticky chicken wings with an Asian twist
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the wingsPreheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, toss the wings with vegetable oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until evenly coated.
-
Bake the wingsLine a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack. Bake for 35-40 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden brown, turning halfway through cooking time.
-
Make the honey sriracha sauceWhile the wings are baking, combine sriracha, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and lime juice in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and whisk in the butter until melted and sauce is glossy.
-
Glaze the wingsWhen the wings are done, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour two-thirds of the sauce over the hot wings and toss until evenly coated. Reserve the remaining sauce for serving.
-
Broil for extra crispinessFor extra caramelization, place the glazed wings back on the wire rack and broil on high for 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning. The sauce should bubble and caramelize slightly.
-
Serve and garnishTransfer the wings to a serving platter. Drizzle with the remaining sauce, then sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately while hot and sticky.
