Instructions
-
Prepare the rubIn a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, mustard powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well until fully incorporated.
-
Season the brisketPat the brisket dry with paper towels. Apply the spice rub generously to all sides of the brisket, pressing it in firmly to adhere. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
-
Slow cook the brisketPlace the seasoned brisket in a slow cooker. Mix BBQ sauce and beef broth together, then pour over the brisket. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the meat is fork-tender and easily shreds.

Shred the meatRemove the brisket from the slow cooker and transfer to a large cutting board. Using two forks, shred the meat, discarding any remaining fat. Return the shredded meat to the slow cooker and mix with the cooking liquid. Keep warm until ready to serve.
-
Prepare the bunsLightly toast the slider buns, either in a toaster oven or on a baking sheet under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, until golden brown. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
