Instructions

  1. Prepare the bagels
Slice the bagels horizontally with a serrated knife. If desired, lightly toast them until golden brown for added crunch and warmth.
  2. Spread the cream cheese
Generously spread about 2 tablespoons of softened cream cheese on both the top and bottom halves of each bagel, creating an even layer.
  3. Layer the lox
Arrange 2 oz of thinly sliced smoked salmon on the bottom half of each bagel, folding the slices to create volume and texture.
  4. Add the toppings
Top the salmon with a few slices of red onion, cucumber, and tomato. Sprinkle with capers and fresh dill. Season with freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  5. Finish the sandwich
Place the top half of the bagel over the fillings and press gently. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the sandwich before eating.
