
Alabama White Sauce Chicken Sliders
Tangy, smoky mini sandwiches with creamy Southern barbecue sauce

Prepare the chickenIn a large bowl, toss chicken thighs with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper until evenly coated. Allow to marinate for at least 10 minutes while preparing other components.

Make the Alabama white sauceIn a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, horseradish, Dijon mustard, remaining black pepper, cayenne pepper, brown sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon salt until smooth. Reserve half for serving and set aside the rest for basting.

Cook the chickenHeat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Grill chicken thighs for 5-6 minutes per side, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). During the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush chicken with some of the Alabama white sauce. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.

Prepare the coleslawMix the coleslaw with 3 tablespoons of the reserved Alabama white sauce until evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Shred the chickenUsing two forks, shred the grilled chicken into bite-sized pieces. Toss with 1/4 cup of the Alabama white sauce to moisten and flavor the meat.

Assemble the slidersPlace a generous portion of shredded chicken on the bottom half of each toasted slider bun. Top with dressed coleslaw and pickle slices. Spread additional Alabama white sauce on the top bun and close the sandwich.

ServeArrange sliders on a serving platter with any remaining Alabama white sauce on the side for dipping. Serve immediately while chicken is still warm.
