
Teriyaki Spam
Sweet and savory glazed Spam with a Japanese twist

Prepare the teriyaki sauceIn a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, honey, grated ginger, and minced garlic until the sugar is completely dissolved. Set aside.

Pan-fry the SpamHeat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the Spam slices and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until lightly browned and crispy around the edges.

Add the teriyaki saucePour the teriyaki sauce over the browned Spam slices. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 3-4 minutes, occasionally spooning the sauce over the Spam, until the sauce thickens and forms a glossy glaze.

Reduce the sauceIf the sauce is still thin, remove the Spam slices and set aside. Continue simmering the sauce for another 2-3 minutes until it reaches a syrupy consistency, then return the Spam to coat with the thickened sauce.

Serve and garnishTransfer the glazed Spam to a serving plate. Drizzle with the remaining sauce from the pan, sprinkle with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot with rice if desired.
