  1. Prepare the baguette
    Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the baguette slices on a large baking sheet. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil.
  2. Toast the crostini
    Bake the baguette slices for 7-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they're golden and crisp. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.
  3. Prepare the pears
    Toss the sliced pears with lemon juice to prevent browning. In a small bowl, mix the honey with 1 tablespoon of warm water to make it easier to drizzle.
  4. Assemble the crostini
    Place 1-2 pear slices on each toasted baguette round. Sprinkle with crumbled blue cheese and toasted walnut pieces.
  5. Add finishing touches
    Drizzle each crostini with the thinned honey and sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves. Season with a small pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  6. Serve and garnish
    Arrange the crostini on a serving platter. If using, drizzle with balsamic glaze for an extra layer of flavor. Serve immediately while still warm, or at room temperature.
