Miso Butter Corn on the Cob
Sweet corn elevated with savory umami miso butter glaze
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the miso butterIn a small bowl, combine the softened butter, miso paste, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix thoroughly until smooth and well incorporated. Let the mixture sit at room temperature while you cook the corn.
-
Cook the cornBring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the corn and cook for 5-7 minutes until tender but still crisp. Alternatively, you can grill the corn over medium-high heat for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until charred in spots.
-
Apply the miso butterRemove the corn from the water or grill and pat dry with paper towels. While the corn is still hot, generously brush the miso butter mixture over each ear, making sure to coat all sides evenly. The heat from the corn will help melt the butter and create a glossy glaze.
-
Add the garnishesSprinkle the buttered corn with sliced green onions, toasted sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes if using. The garnishes should stick to the melted butter mixture.
-
Serve immediatelyTransfer the corn to a serving platter and serve while hot. Any remaining miso butter can be placed in a small bowl for additional brushing at the table.
