Lemon Herb Grilled Salmon
Perfectly grilled salmon with bright citrus and fresh herbs
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the marinadeIn a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, half of the herbs (dill, parsley, and thyme), lemon zest, honey, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
-
Marinate the salmonPlace salmon fillets in a shallow dish, skin side down. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring it's evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes (no longer than 30 minutes as the acid in the lemon will begin to 'cook' the fish).
-
Preheat the grillPreheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F). Clean and oil the grates to prevent sticking. If using a grill pan, heat over medium-high heat.
-
Grill the salmonRemove salmon from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Place salmon on the grill, skin side down. Close the grill lid and cook for 6-8 minutes without moving it. The skin will help protect the delicate flesh from the heat.
-
Flip and finish cookingCarefully flip the salmon using a wide spatula. Cook for another 2-4 minutes until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F for food safety.
-
Rest and garnishTransfer the salmon to a serving platter and let rest for 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with the remaining fresh herbs and garnish with lemon slices.
