Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the marinadeIn a large bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, gochujang, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, honey, and grated pear. Whisk until well combined and the sugar has dissolved.
-
Marinate the beefAdd the cubed beef to the marinade, stirring to ensure all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor penetration.
-
Prepare the skewersIf using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. Thread the marinated beef cubes onto skewers, leaving a small space between each piece to ensure even cooking.
-
Prepare the glazeReserve 3 tablespoons of the marinade before adding the beef. In a small saucepan, bring this reserved marinade to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened. This will be used as a glaze during cooking.
-
Grill the skewersPreheat grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F/205°C). Grill the skewers for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the beef reaches desired doneness (about 135°F/57°C for medium-rare). Brush with the reserved glaze during the last minute of cooking.
-
Rest and garnishRemove skewers from the grill and let rest for 3-5 minutes. Sprinkle with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
