Jasmine Green Tea
Fragrant floral infusion with delicate green tea leaves
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Heat the waterHeat filtered water to 175-185°F (80-85°C). This temperature is ideal for green tea to prevent bitterness. Avoid using boiling water as it can damage the delicate tea leaves and create a bitter taste.
-
Prepare your teapotWarm your teapot or cups by rinsing them with hot water. This helps maintain the tea's temperature during steeping. Add the loose jasmine green tea leaves to the teapot, or place tea bags in individual cups.
-
Steep the teaPour the hot water over the tea leaves or bags and cover. Allow to steep for 2-3 minutes. Jasmine green tea should not be steeped too long to avoid bitterness. The tea should turn a pale golden-green color with a distinct jasmine aroma.
-
Strain and serveIf using loose leaves, strain the tea into cups. If using tea bags, remove them. Add honey if desired for sweetness. Garnish with optional lemon slices, fresh jasmine flowers, or mint sprigs for an elegant presentation.
-
Enjoy hot or prepare for iced teaServe immediately while hot, or let cool to room temperature before refrigerating to make iced jasmine tea. For iced tea, brew the tea stronger (use 6 teaspoons instead of 4) to account for dilution from ice.
