Instructions

  1. Prepare the garlic butter
In a medium bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, basil, salt, pepper, paprika, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated into a smooth, fragrant spread.
  2. Prepare the bread
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the bread, cut side up, on a large baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper. If using a whole loaf, slice it lengthwise to create two halves.
  3. Apply the garlic butter
Using a knife or spatula, generously spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut surfaces of the bread. If using Parmesan cheese, sprinkle it on top of the butter mixture.
  4. Bake the garlic bread
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges of the bread start to turn golden brown. For extra crispiness, switch the oven to broil for the final 1-2 minutes, but watch carefully to prevent burning.
  5. Slice and serve
Remove the garlic bread from the oven and let it cool for 1-2 minutes. Cut the bread into approximately 2-inch slices using a serrated knife. Serve immediately while still warm and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
