Sweet figs and savory prosciutto on crispy flatbread
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the doughPreheat oven to 450°F (230°C). On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a thin oval or rectangle. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
-
Add base flavorsBrush the dough with olive oil and distribute the sliced garlic evenly across the surface. Season with a pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper.
-
Add cheese and figsArrange the mozzarella slices over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Distribute the quartered figs evenly over the cheese. If using gorgonzola, sprinkle it between the figs.
-
Bake the flatbreadBake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
-
Add finishing touchesRemove the flatbread from the oven and immediately drape the prosciutto slices over the hot surface. The residual heat will warm the prosciutto without cooking it.
-
Garnish and serveDrizzle the flatbread with honey and balsamic glaze. Sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves and top with arugula. Cut into slices and serve immediately while still warm.
