Instructions

  1. Prepare the basil seeds
Soak the basil seeds in 1 cup of water for about 20-30 minutes until they swell up and become gelatinous. Drain any excess water and set aside.
  2. Cook the vermicelli
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the falooda sev (vermicelli) and cook for 2-3 minutes until soft. Drain immediately, rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process, and set aside.
  3. Prepare serving glasses
Take 4 tall serving glasses. Add 1 tablespoon of rose syrup to the bottom of each glass. Next, add 2 tablespoons of the soaked basil seeds to each glass.
  4. Create the layers
Divide the cooked vermicelli equally among the glasses, creating the next layer. Add about ¼ cup of cold milk to each glass, followed by 1 tablespoon of condensed milk.
  5. Add the final layers
Sprinkle a portion of the chopped nuts and jelly cubes over each glass. Fill the glasses with the remaining cold milk, leaving some space at the top for ice cream.
  6. Top and serve
Top each glass with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Garnish with the remaining nuts, rose petals if using, and a drizzle of rose syrup. Serve immediately with long spoons and straws.
